1. Selecting your images

Select the images and documents you wish to include.

Several criteria to consider include:

  • Select the best, highest quality images.
  • Select the most meaningful material that you can identify.
  • Avoid duplicates.
  • Cropping and centering is done the process, so don’t discount off-center images.

Image formats:

Images may be in a variety of formats including: ordinary photos of any age, 35mm slides, printed documents, digital images and digital camera movie clips from your camera card.

2. Organizing your selections

Arrange your materials in the order they will be viewed.

When sequencing, keep in mind:

  • Is the theme based on a timeline?
  • Dates, times and locations can be placed in the narrative.
  • If not a timeline, what other progression needs to be followed.

 

3. Marking the sequence

With the items in order, mark each item in the back upper left hand corner.

  • Choose a marker that will not damage the original. If in doubt, try it first on an unwanted photo or like document.
  • Make sure the notation is legible.

If submitting materials in digital format (camera card, floppy disk, etc.) be sure to indicate the name, date or digital ID of each image.

 

4. Completing the Narrative

Using the Narrative Summary sheet, personalize images and documents with a time, place, special meaning or other description.

Remember:

  • Images will be cropped and centered unless indicated otherwise.
  • It is not necessary to include narration for each image. One description may summarize several following images.
  • Be sure to complete The title and Credits.

 

5. Selecting additional options.

Additional options may include:

  • A a musical theme.
  • Copies of the presentation.
  • A separate CD with only the images.

 

6. Completing the Order Form

When finished, complete the Order Form, package your materials and send with payment to:
